Right-wing media distorts truth about Obama speech
Former president Barack Obama held a town hall in Berlin Monday, and within minutes right-wing media extremist Sean Hannity took to the air on Fox News to attack the popular two-term president.
Hannity shrilly accused Obama of referring to himself nearly 400 times during his appearance in the capital of the only nation on earth to foment two world wars and loss of 100 million lives in a span of only 30 years.
Born to Blog is pleased to report that totally objective fact checkers from mainstream, non partisan organizations including Media Matters and MoveOn have refuted Hannity.
Clearly, Hannity tried to suggest that Obama is a narcissist who has forgotten his Democrat roots and whose esteem of self may be unhealthy. So let’s clear up the record: Even his own Fox producers have acknowledged that Hannity spoke from very shaky ground.
Hannity’s reference to 400 I’s and Me’s from Obama was apparently wildly inflated based on comments from unnamed sources at Fox.
“Sean was out of line,” one Fox producer admitted. “We want to back up our guy, but what can I say? We can document only 392 times Obama said I or me. Spread over an hour, that’s only once every 15 seconds. So, Mr. President, I am very sorry.”
Hannity has not returned our calls.
